We have a wonderful weekend update for you today - the team at Samboja Lestari are happy to announce the opening of their brand-new sun bear enrichment area!

This fantastic new area has been in the works for some time now, with the grand opening taking place earlier this week. Our volunteers spent the final few days of construction working on the enrichment area's concrete floor, adding a final touch to this important part of the sanctuary. Check our some of the pictures from the last few weeks below!

Time for the team to celebrate their hard work!

But that's not all, folks -  the staff and volunteers at Samboja Lestari are now moving on with the refurbishment of facilities for the orangutans. They're gearing up to move 4 large males to new areas of the sanctuary before - hopefully - transferring them to even better locations in the future. This is all part of helping the animals towards freedom, so stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
