We are proud to announce that Forsyth Lodge and Singinawa Jungle Lodge on our Tiger Project have both been awarded the TofTigers PUG Eco Rating Outstanding Award!
TofTigers (Travel Operators for Tigers) is an initiative which was founded in 2005, and it stemmed from a collective of safari operators. They were worried and concerned by the lack of care for the Tigers welfare in the Tiger tourism industry, and they formed the group to put pressure on travel operators to improve their practices. Their aim is to get the travel industry which revolves around the Bengal Tiger population to continue to improve the way they aide conservation efforts.
To help with the continual improvement of the travel industry in India, TofTiger have introduced a new PUG (Practices Under Guidelines) Eco rating system for accommodation at the various lodges and hotels that are involved in nature tourism in the local area. We are delighted that the accommodation on our two Tiger projects has been awarded the top “Outstanding Eco Rating” from TofTiger. Forsyth Lodge and Singinawa Jungle Lodge, which are the accommodation on the Great Tiger Project and Indian Tiger Tales Project respectively, have both been presented with the award. This is testament to the hard work the staff at the lodges put in on an everyday basis, and the positive impact this hard work has on the local Tiger population. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the day to day running of the lodges for all of their efforts to improve the projects, and as a result help the endangered Tiger population.

Come face to face with one of the world’s most misunderstood predators whilst aiding great white shark conservation. As a volunteer, not only will you get the incredible opportunity to dive with sharks, but you will also assist the team in raising awareness of the great white as you work alongside tourists and local school children to provide them with knowledge of the local environment and the importance of living in harmony with South Africa’s marine life.
