There is no better place to help protect animals than in the heart of Africa, and as one of the continent’s richest habitats for baboons, cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, lions, and dozens of other stunning species, Namibia is also home to major conservation projects. The Namibia Wildlife Conservation Project is an ambitious and immersive project that allows volunteers to interact, care for, feed, clean, rehabilitate, and rescue these rare and precious species.

Many of the animals we work with at the Namibia Wildlife Conservation Project are injured, ill, or living in areas being threatened by human encroachment, so their best chance of survival is a conservation project like this one. Some of the animals you would care for are orphans, and this project provides the opportunity to change the life of a young baboon or cheetah, helping them form social bonds with their own kind in a safe and healthy environment. Their natural habitats are under constant attack, but by rehabilitating these animals and releasing them back into an unthreatened area of the wild, you can play a big part in preserving the natural order.

Taking a trip to the Namibian bush is an experience that you’ll never forget, but within that rugged wilderness lays an opportunity to support conservation in a completely new way. Working hands-on at such a special animal sanctuary creates a bond with these animals that will remain with you forever. You will have the chance to see every element of conservation, from sanctuary duties and animal husbandry lessons to fieldwork and border patrols. The threats to these natural treasures aren’t going to be solved without dedication and support from passionate people around the world; if you fall in that category and are interested in the Namibia Wildlife Conservation Project, learn more about the project here!
