What is volunteering and why do it?
In simple terms, volunteering allows kind-hearted individuals to take part in an array of activities designed to make a difference to the causes that need a little extra assistance – in this case, wildlife organisations! If you’re somebody who loves to travel, has a passion for wildlife, and you also happen to harbour a sense of altruism, our wildlife volunteering projects are for you. Who is it for and when to go?
No matter if you’re a family, a solo traveller, or volunteering as part of a group, we have a project for you. Our volunteer opportunities appeal to a range of interests and have welcomed people from all walks of life through their doors: from 18 to 80, volunteers across all age and abilities have helped to make a difference. What types of activities are carried out?
Your volunteer opportunity could see you working towards sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica, the rehabilitation of big cats and baboons in Africa, or researching whale sharks in the Maldives. Our projects will introduce you to a whole range of destinations and wildlife species around the globe, but it is important to take your time spent volunteering seriously. Activities such as construction, enclosure cleaning, and day-to-day maintenance are equally as important as enrichment, feeding the animals and observation tasks, so do be prepared to be flexible!
