If you’ve ever dreamt of caring for, and spending time with big cats such as cheetahs then Namibia should be near the top of your travel list. With more than 1/3 of the global population of cheetahs found in Namibia, there is no better place in the world to make an impact on conservation efforts. However, the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary is not only home cheetah, but also to dozens of different species of animals, including baboons, wild dogs, and zebras. The sanctuary offers a safe place for injured, ill, or displaced animals.
For many wildlife lovers, volunteering is a way to educate oneself and gain hands-on experience in the field, where you can see the tangible results of your efforts. The Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary offers a wonderful environment for personal growth and discovery, allowing you to care for, feed, and rehabilitate a wide range of incredible animals in a healthy and humane way. Many of the animals cared for and housed at the sanctuary would be killed or poached without help. Once they are rehabilitated and deemed suitable for release, the sanctuary proudly introduces them back into the wild in a safe habitat, far from farmland or other manmade dangers. You can be a part of this essential effort, offering your time and passion to ensure the recovery and release of the animals in care.
Much of what the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary is able to achieve is through the volunteers who come from all over the world, seeking an exciting conservation vacation, or perhaps a longer-term commitment to protecting the precious wildlife of Namibia. Without people like you, we wouldn’t be able to make such an important difference. Click here for more information if you’re ready to take your travelling and volunteer efforts to the next level!
