When most people hear the words great white shark, they often picture a terrifying predator of the deep, and one of the most legendary beasts in the ocean. While great white sharks are impressive and infamous, they are just as affected by human impact and climate change as other marine animals. The Great White Shark Conservation Project is dedicated to increasing awareness and education about sharks to ensure that these incredible animals aren’t driven out of existence.

Owing to the popular culture fears often associated with sharks, they have been hunted, persecuted and despised in many parts of the world, leading to overfishing and sport killing, as well as poaching for their dorsal fins. This widespread brutality against sharks in recent years has resulted in many types being driven to the point of extinction. Sharks are not only fascinating and intelligent creatures, but also key players in marine food chains and when that natural balance is disturbed it can cause chaos beneath the waves. The Great White Shark Conservation Project aims to inform and physically educate eco-tourists, students, nature lovers, and other conservationists by bringing them in close contact with these mighty beasts whilst in completely controlled environments. South Africa is famed for its concentration of great whites, so your adventure will take place there. Great white shark cage diving may sound intense, but it will also be one of the most unforgettable experiences in your life. Combined with gathering data on sharks and actively helping in conservation and education efforts, your participation is invaluable.

If you’re willing to donate your time and energy whilst enjoying the vacation of a lifetime, why not learn more about the Great White Shark Conservation Project? Sharks and other forms of wildlife should be respected rather than feared, and opportunities like this are your chance to help turn the tide away from cruelty and extinction.
