Over the last few months we have had days for Orangutans, Rhinos and Whale Sharks but this week some of the unsung heroes of the animal world are coming to the fore! They may not have four legs or a tail (we hope), but the veterinary technicians who care for the animals all around the world are finally getting the recognition they deserve!
National Veterinary Technician Week was first celebrated back in 1993, and the third week in October every year gives us all a chance to recognize and appreciate the vets of the world! Whether it is a technician saving the life of a lion in South Africa, or a vet coming to the rescue of a moggy in Croydon, veterinary technicians do such a good job of looking after the world’s wildlife.
We would like to take this chance to thank all of the veterinary technicians at our project sites for their continued hard work and the difference they are making to animal conservation efforts. Keep it up guys, we appreciate it!

Come face to face with one of the world’s most misunderstood predators whilst aiding great white shark conservation. As a volunteer, not only will you get the incredible opportunity to dive with sharks, but you will also assist the team in raising awareness of the great white as you work alongside tourists and local school children to provide them with knowledge of the local environment and the importance of living in harmony with South Africa’s marine life.
