The Special Offer Projects - What Do They Want To Achieve?

We often get asked what the end goal is for the animal conservation projects we run here at The Great Projects, and today we wanted to take a look at the three projects that are on special offer this month. Take a look and learn about what the Great Gorilla, Orangutan and Pygmy Elephant, and Great White Shark Projects all want to achieve!

You may all remember that last year we introduced you to Gedion, the young boy from Uganda who we here at The Great Projects were sponsoring throughout a carpentry class.

Uganda School

To recap Gedions story, he is now 13 years old and he has unfortunately been deaf since birth. Even with this huge handicap, Gedion never let it stop him from achieving his dreams and making the best of his situation. After graduating primary school, the team here at The Great Projects decided to step in to make sure he could continue his education and take part in a carpentry and joinery training course at a local centre. Gedion has now been working hard and learning a whole host of new skills on the training course for a year now, and we are delighted to be able to bring you an update on his progress!

Gedion is doing very well in his classes, and is loved by all of the pupils and teachers! It is not just in the popularity stakes where Gedion is faring well though. In his Technical Drawing class he got 76/100, his Practical Test 89/100, and he did even better in his Mathematics by getting 90/100! Gedion has done so well in his first year of carpentry school that his class masters only comment on his yearly report was to “Maintain all of your hard work!”

Carpentry School

As you can see from the image of Gedion with his portable stool (which he made for his end of year test), he is a superstar and we can’t wait to see what he gets up to next term! We would like to take this chance to congratulate Gedion on a job well done! We are all proud here in the TGP office.
