Travel Update Regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Since the first case, the global situation with COVID-19 has continued to develop with widespread travel bans now in place and heavy restrictions affecting international travel. The safety and wellbeing of our volunteers is our priority, as well as ensuring everyone with future travel plans is kept informed. Therefore, please find some important information below for anyone with an upcoming trip scheduled.

For Anyone Scheduled to Depart in the next 30 Days

If you have a trip booked for which you are scheduled to depart in the next 30 days, we recommend:

  1. Contacting your airline or the agent you booked your flights through as soon as possible to understand if your flights have been cancelled and what your options are, specifically relating to refunds, travel vouchers and rebooking. Some airlines are cancelling flights far into the future and others only days/weeks before, so it is important to stay up to date.
  2. Contacting The Great Projects to understand if your trip has been affected and viewing our Flexible Booking Policy to understand your options. Please see the ‘Contact Us’ section below for more details.
  3. Contacting your travel insurance provider to understand if you are eligible for reimbursement for curtailment (if appropriate) or whether your cover can be postponed to a new date of travel.

For Anyone Scheduled to Depart more than 30 days from today

If you have a trip booked for which you are not scheduled to depart in the next 30 days, we recommend:

  1. Contacting your airline or the agent you booked your flights through to understand if you are affected by any cancellations or changes which affect your itinerary, and if not, contacting them closer to your date of departure to keep informed.
  2. Viewing our Flexible Booking Policy to understand your options should you want or need to make any amendments to your booking.
  3. Keeping up to date with your government's foreign travel advice.

Should your upcoming trip be affected or cancelled, we will contact you immediately to inform you and discuss your options.

Contacting us regarding your booking

We understand there is a lot of uncertainty regarding everyone’s upcoming bookings and travel plans and whether they have been affected. We aim to respond to everyone as soon as possible but we kindly ask that anyone with a trip scheduled outside of the next 30 days to please be patient as we are working to urgently assist and support those with imminent travel plans.
