If your time in Sri Lanka is short, but you're after breathtaking history and stunning wildlife, then this action packed fully escorted Tour is for you! Departing from the vibrant City of Colombo, you will explore the Dambulla Cave Temple before an evening Grey Slender Loris. See the sites of Polonnaruwa and enjoy safari in Minneriya National Park to encounter wild elephant.

The UNESCO regions of Sigirya, the Rock Fortress and Anuradhapura will showcase Sri Lanka's awe inspiring history and landmarks. Residing in comfortable accommodations, this is a fantastic and personal journey.

Itinerary (Day 1)

Day 1: Colombo - Dambulla Cave Temple and Evening Loris Experience

You will be collected from your Hotel by your Chauffeur. Drive to Habarana and check into your hotel to enjoy lunch. In the afternoon visit the famous UNESCO world heritage site Dambulla Cave Temple. The Buddhist temple is located on top of a rock and consists of five caves all filled with Buddha statues and beautiful wall paintings.
Enjoy leisure time and an early dinner at your Resort before embarking on an evening Grey Slender Loris Tour. An expert Naturalist will guide you through the vast private reserve and walkways in search of this revered creature and you through a vast private reserve on will see other nocturnal life too!

Itinerary (Day 2)

Day 2: Polonnaruwa - Minneriya National Park

After breakfast, your Driver will take you to the ancient capital Polonnaruwa. You can discover the area’s spectacular sights by bicycle, tuk-tuk, foot or car. The main attraction is Gal Vihara, a group of 4 Buddha’s carved in granite stone.
In the afternoon take a safari in Minneriya National Park to observe wild elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, water monitors, pelicans and many others. If visiting between May to November, you can see the famous “Elephant Gathering” take place; potentially over 600 elephants congregate by the few waterholes.

Itinerary (Day 3)

Day 3: Sigiriya Rock Fortress - Anuradhapura

This morning you will visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Explore the gardens and caves and perhaps trek up the 200metre rock. Half way up the rock, your Guide will show you the painted caves covered by ladies frescoes, believed to be King Kasyapa’s concubines. From the top, the views are spectacular! Afterwards transfer to Anuradhapura and check in to your hotel for lunch.
Take a Tour of this ancient Capital, seeing the royal ruins. Many of the Buddhist temples are still active, so you will gain a lively insight into the religion. The site comprises a rich collection of architectural and archaeological wonders. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Itinerary (Day 4)

Day 4: Anuradhapura - Colombo

On this final day, enjoy breakfast before commencing your 4-hour drive back to Colombo. If your time allows, you may wish to enjoy other optional activities in Colombo; if Sri Lankan cuisine, the world-renowned gem industry or night cycling are your interest, please see our Optional Extra’s List for further information (under ‘Details’ tab).

Kassapa Lions Rock, Habarana

Day 1 & 2 :
An ideally located hotel situated facing the magnificent Sigiriya rock in the midst of a small village named Digampathaha. This fantastic hotel is an ideal base from which you can explore the many picturesque sites surrounding it, all with historic and cultural importance, such as Anuradhapura and Sigiriya. National parks, which are renowned for their significant populations of wild elephants, are located in close proximity to the hotel. Fitted with a cable TV and minibar, well-appointed and deluxe rooms also have a fan and seating area. Private bathrooms come with a bathtub and heated showers.

Alakamanda, Anuradhapura

Day 3:
Surrounded by lush greeneries, Hotel Alakamanda is located in the ancient capital of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its well-preserved ruins of the Sri Lankan civilisation. Your private haven away from home, this hotel is a unique boutique that upholds tradition yet built to an ancient architectural design which is located a few miles away from the heart of the city of Anuradhapura. Starting after 7.00pm, this activity will last a couple of hours, meandering the quieter night time roads of Colombo and pedalling you way past the main sights and sounds of this City. The price includes your bike and helmet together with an experience Guide throughout this excursion

Cooking class with a local chef

From £65.00:
This enlightening activity in Colombo will last around 3hours. Details vary over the year so please enquire for further information at the time of booking.

Mask Carving in Galle

Create a memento of a traditional Sri Lankan mask. Over a 304hour experience, get an introduction on the influence and status of the mask and the cultural and mythological history. Learn about the function and use of it and carve away with the assistance of traditional carvers then paint your masterpiece to your liking.

Arrive into Colombo (Bandaranaike) International Airport and transfer to your chosen accommodation in Colombo (we can give suggestions). Our Chauffeur will collect you the next morning to begin your Tour.

All travellers to Sri Lanka WILL need a visa to enter the country. Short stay visas of thirty days can be obtained online via the Electronic Travel Authority found here.

These can be extended for up to three months once in Sri Lanka from the Department of Immigration & Emigration. However, it is advisable to contact the Sri Lankan High Commission in your country of origin at least one month before travel. Please note that your passport must be valid for at least six months before travel.


Meals provided throughout the Tour are mainly Sri Lankan food, which is a fantastic way of exploring the culinary delights of the areas. However, should this not appeal, you will always have the option for something different and the range of cuisine is excellent. If you have any special dietary requirements please inform us before you travel. Please note that beverages are not included within the price.


The currency in Sri Lanka is the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). The exchange rate is around 1 LKR = 0.004 GBP, 0.007 USD, 0.005 EUR. Please note exchange rates are subject to change. Please make sure you tell your bank that you are going away, as if you make a larger withdrawal abroad, they may block your card!
