Itinerary

This tour offers the opportunity to learn more about the iconic Komodo dragon by paying a visit to its native home. Beautiful beaches, mysterious caves and the ability to witness an array of wildlife species round off this enjoyable 4-day expedition.

Day 1

Day 1: Arrive at Labuan Bajo

You’ll arrive at Labuan Bajo Airport and will be met by a member of staff before being transferred to your hotel. Time permitting, your afternoon may see you heading to the Batu Cermin Cave (‘Mirror Cave’), home to many stalactites, stalagmites, and fascinating fossils (corals, turtles and tortoises can all be found preserved in the walls of the cave). Lunch is provided, and after the tour, you will be transferred back to the hotel for the night. Rest up – tomorrow will be a busy day!

Day 2

Day 2: Rinca Island & a Night at Sea

Komodo National Park consists of a number of interesting islands, and after breakfast, you’ll head out to visit one of the larger of these tropical paradises: Rinca Island. Home to an array of wildlife species, you may be able to spot species such as water buffalo and monkeys roaming across the island – though the Komodo dragons themselves are the main attraction! After enjoying an island trek, you might want to cool off, so take a dip in the waters around the island. Jump aboard the boat in the afternoon to enjoy lunch before sailing over to Komodo Island. Enjoy dinner before spending the night on the boat.

Day 3

Day 3: Komodo Island

After a night spent aboard the boat, you’ll follow a trail to Banunggulung, a former feeding ground and an ideal place to witness the Komodo dragons. If there’s time, you may also pay a visit to the Komodo Nature Park museum before re-boarding the boat back to Labuan Bajo, stopping off at the beautiful Pantai Merah on the way. Known for its pink beaches, Pantai Merah is also popular due to its stunning coral gardens – so why not attempt a spot of snorkelling? You’ll have lunch back aboard the boat to continue your journey, but there’s still time for one last stop-off at one of the several occupied islands in the area. This is a great opportunity to learn a little about the seafaring tribes who call the islands home. As the day draws to a close, you’ll arrive back at Labuan Bajo for a good night’s sleep at the hotel.

Day 4

Day 4: Labuan Bajo - Next Destination

Arise in time for a tasty breakfast before being transferred back to Labuan Bajo Airport before your onward travel plans or return flight home.
